The décor exudes decandence, combined with an understated, somewhat worn feel - such as the paint (puposely) flaking off some oils on canvas. Hide away and forget about daily life in one of the hotel's many nooks and crannies - with a library, lounge, bar, reception, patio and Mirror Room. This is a dramatic and decadent world with dark wood fittings, dim lighting and period furnishings.

Staff are attentive and will go out of their way to help, and the reception area is hidden away at the back of the property, creating a home-away-from-home feel. The buzzing Hans' Bar & Grill offers all-day dining, serving modern British cuisine, with a nod to vegan and plant-based dishes. On the menu, you'll find the likes of grilled scarlet prawns, falafel burgers and 28-day-aged ribeye steak. The cauliflower wings are a firm favourite, coated in spicy Korean sauce, sesame, coriander and crispy shallots. The à la carte breakfast is good too, and for drinks, head to the Chelsea Bar.
