The castle façade is imposing, promising interesting historical significance - and it delivers. There's a fountain outside which is lit up at night, and the extensive gardens are magical. Expect a warm welcome, with interiors of a country-chic style, fused with contemporary features.
The grounds are tranquil and restorative. We really felt like we were on holiday as we walked around them, hearing the birds chirping. The hosts are more than happy to talk about the beautiful building, as well as make recommendations for things to do in the local area - and are very hands-on.
