Hotel Review
The Bull Hotel, Bridport, Dorset
The Bull stands proudly on the main street through Bridport, a thriving market town under two miles from the beach and harbour at West Bay. West Bay was the location for the BBC series Broadchurch; thankfully, it's a far more friendly and less hazardous place in real life.

Inland from West Bay, some of the best bits of the Dorset coast are close by - including popular West Bay and Burton Bradstock.

Style
The coaching inn dates back to the 1500s and the oak floors and chunky fireplaces serve as reminder of that; the dining area and bar are informal and rustic. There are contemporary touches like bold wallpapers and the bedrooms have a stylish boutique-hotel vibe.
Service & Facilities
There are plenty of options when it comes to food and drink. There's a restaurant serving pub food and a pizzeria in converted stables, a main bar and a cosy wine/cocktail bar (open in the evenings). We enjoyed drinks in the courtyard.

Restaurants & Bars
As this is a Fuller's pub, their beers dominate in the main bar. There's also a wine and cocktail bar. The restaurant serves British pub dishes featuring local ingredients and you also have the choice of the pizzeria, which is ideal if you're staying a few days. We loved the grilled on-the-bone Dorset sirloin steak with hand-cut chips and béarnaise sauce.
The Bull: traditional British pub with restaurant. All-day menu, open daily. Mains from £14.
The Pizzeria: stable-turned rustic restaurant. Authentic pizzas and craft beers, served daily.
