Location
You're in the heart of the New Town, on an impressively lovely square. Within walking distance are the high-end shops of George Street.
The hotel is on St Andrew Square - a fine position - and you're close to the station.
By car: over an hour from Glasgow, 2 hours 30 minutes from Newcastle and 4 hours 30 minutes from Manchester. Paid parking available nearby.By train: Glasgow Queens Street to Edinburgh Waverley takes around 50 minutes, it's 3 hours from Manchester Piccadilly and 4 hours 45 minutes from London Kings Cross - after which, it's a 3-minute walk to the hotel. Book trains to Edinburgh.
Style
A neo-classical building with Art Deco touches, this hotel was formerly the head office of the Royal Bank of Scotland and has been lovingly restored to retain its 1930s features, from its chequerboard floor tiles to its marble staircase. There's a modern sense of glamour through the bold use of colour, abstract art and designer lighting.
