Location
The private forest boasts beautiful views and it overlooks the bijou village of Mystras a few minutes away. Alternatively, hike to the castle or visit the hot springs.
The retreat is 50 minutes by car from Kalamata airport, nestled within a mountain range in Laconia, Peloponnese.
By plane: London to Kalamata takes under 4 hours, after which, a taxi takes 50 minutes. Free parking available. Book flights to Kalamata.
Style
The retreat consists of the main building, an 18th-century mansion house, with modern upgrades and chic accommodation dotted around it. There's a lovely warm ambience with a high attention to detail. The private forest has marked walkways, as well as seating and spaces to exercise or meditate in a secluded setting.

Rooms are decorated in hues of bronze and gold, with wooden floors and headboards creating a feeling of warmth. The Nespresso machine didn't just have coffee capsules, but also good-for-you tea such as mountain tea, sage and camomile.

Order from the diverse menus or choose to take a 3GL test and the doctor will provide a bespoke meal plan, so you can achieve your goals. Dishes include Greek salads, grilled seabass or lamb chops and an array of vegetables. The Laconian saiti - a puff pastry with feta, wild oregano, lemon zest, thyme honey and sesame - for breakfast was sublime.
