Location

You're within walking distance of the Old Town's attractions, including the castle, cathedral, the Scotch Whisky Experience and Museum of Scotland. The New Town is about a 10-15-minute walk away.

The hotel is on a quiet street just off the Royal Mile and the station is withing walking distance.

By car: over an hour from Glasgow, 2 hours 30 minutes from Newcastle and 4 hours 30 minutes from Manchester. Paid parking available nearby.

By train: Glasgow Queens Street to Edinburgh Waverley takes around 50 minutes, it's 3 hours from Manchester Piccadilly and 4 hours 45 minutes from London Kings Cross - after which, it's a 6-minute walk to the hotel. Book trains to Edinburgh.

Style

This is a late Victorian building, and features like the high ceiling and tall windows remain, but there aren't too many other original features other than a bit of cornicing and the oak staircase. The building is set on a slope (like most in the Old Town), so the entrance floor is actually on the third floor.
