By train: London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly takes around 2 hours, after which, it's a 10-minute taxi (or 15-minute walk) to the hotel. Book trains to Manchester.

Former owner Sally O'Loughlin lovingly designed the interiors - panelled walls and parquet flooring are complemented by statement lighting and velvet furniture. Locally-commissioned artworks adorn the walls.

Staff are friendly and welcoming. The infinity spa pool overlooking the Town Hall is a big draw, and there's a steam room and small relaxation area. Facilities also include a small gym and a cinema.
