Location
Bucklers Hard is a meticulously preserved 18th-century shipbuilding village and the hotel occupies a prime corner position right at the water's edge. For an adventurous experience, consider exploring the river with a kayak or canoe provided by New Forest Activities. The Palace and the National Motor Museum are close by.
The train station at Brockenhurst is a 20-minute drive away, and Southampton is half an hour's drive.
By car: From London, the drive takes just over 2 hours via the M3. From Southampton, the journey takes around 30 minutes.
By train: The closest train station to the hotel is Brockenhurst. The train runs regularly from London Waterloo and takes around 1 hour 30 minutes. A taxi from the station takes 20 minutes. Book trains to Brockenhurst.

Constructed in 1729, this historic house boasts numerous original features, such as expansive open fireplaces and sturdy oak beams. The reception area is adorned with memorabilia showcasing etchings and flags from the ships built by Henry Adams, the renowned 18th-century owner of the house.

Modern British cuisine, such as slow-cooked pork cheek with squash purée, black cabbage, white pudding and glazed baby pears is served in the Riverview restaurant, while sharing platters of smoked fish, cheese or charcuterie and crowd-pleasing burgers, pies and fish and chips are available in the Yachtsman's bar. We loved the flavourful Brixham cod loin, served with mussels, chickpeas, venison chorizo and cavolo nero.
