The hotel is near bus services, the Dart (suburban rail) and the Aircoach bus service which goes to and from Dublin Airport. It is about 13km or 30 minutes by car or public transport to the city centre.

The hotel is split between its historic building - traditional and old-world in style - and a more modern wing, where the décor is darker and rooms don't have views. The hotel was originally built in 1863 when the first railway connecting Dún Laoghaire and Dublin city opened, so it has plenty of character and history.
Facilities include a health club (gym, swimming pool and sauna) with a fully-serviced spa. Set within its own grounds, you can access Dún Laoghaire town as well as the seafront from the gardens. The large underground car park is useful.

Rooms in the original part of the building are spacious and have period features, as well as lovely views of the seafront and Dublin Bay. Rooms in the modern wing are more compact and don't have views.

Choose to dine on classics in the traditional Dún Restaurant, or in the more informal setting of Hardy's Bar & Bistro. The Atrium Lounge serves lunch and coffee, as well as the Bay Lounge. We loved the traditional Irish breakfast, with all the trimmings plus tea and toast.
