Enjoy an idyllic setting by the River Eye, which flows through the village of Lower Slaughter.

You're fairly close to famously pretty Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water.

By car: around 45 minutes from Oxford, 1 hour from Bristol and 2 hours from London. Free on-site parking available.

By train: London Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh takes 1 hour 30 minutes, after which, a taxi takes 20 minutes. Book trains to Moreton-in-Marsh.

The furnishings create a deeply relaxing mood, whatever the season. The inviting sofas and two log fires in the generous bar area are ideal in the winter months, while the colours of the garden are beautiful in autumn. During the spring and summer months, you can't beat outdoor lazing and dining al fresco.

Bedrooms are furnished in gentle colours, with large headboards and soft throws on the beds. Rooms with quirky features can be found in the oldest part of the main building. The superior rooms here also boast rolltop baths. The modern cottage rooms are split across two floors.

Booking is recommended for the inn's popular Sunday roast, and you can also visit sister property, The Slaughters Manor House, which is just across the road.

Restaurant & Bar: country inn, local produce. All-day dining, Mon-Sat. Sunday lunch served 12-3pm.
