OUR REVIEW

Location

Within a short walk you'll find plenty of boutiques, restaurants, bars and clubs. A little further out is Washington Square, Brooklyn Bridge and Canal Street.

Located on the edge of SoHo and TriBeCa between Broadway and Sixth Avenue, the hotel is close to Greenwich Village and Nolita.

By plane: London, Manchester or Edinburgh to New York takes 7 hours, after which, a taxi takes an hour. Parking costs $65 per day. Book flights to New York.

Style

With its red-brick exterior, the hotel's design evokes SoHo from both the 1870s and 1970s. The vibe is industrial-chic with concrete floors, brick pillars and cast iron details combined with bright fabrics, modern artworks and antique mirrors. The hotel is popular with celebrities.

Service & Facilities

Facilities include a choice of bars and restaurants, a small gym (with treadmills, StairMasters, exercise bikes and weights) which is open 24h and the use of complimentary bicycles. Unsurprisingly, the service is good.

Bedrooms

Rooms and suites are not the largest you'll find in the city, but continue with the industrial-chic vibe with white-tiled bathrooms. Characterful touches include copper tables and leather headboards.

Room types: Deluxe, Grand, King, Suites, One and Two Bedroom Suites, Loft

Key amenities: ensuite bathroom with toiletries, bathrobes, hairdryer, tea and coffee-making facilities, TV, free Wi-Fi

Restaurants & Bars

The Soho Diner and Grand Bar & Salon offer all-day menus. Gilligan's is great, with its plant-filled patio and The Club Room is ideal for an evening snack or cocktail. If you close your eyes you could be in Mexico when eating the Huevos Rancheros at the Soho Diner.

Soho Diner: American cuisine, all-day dining, open daily.

Gilligans: terrace restaurant, American cuisine and cocktails. Open daily (hours vary).

Grand Bar & Salon: all-day dining, open daily.
