Style
The original features of this end-terrace Victorian villa have been retained, such as the high ceilings, tiled fireplaces and polished-wood staircase. However, the décor and furnishings are stylish and modern - think pale grey walls, modern rugs on stripped-wood floors and designer lights and artworks to give a cool feel.
Service & Facilities
Owner Harvey, helped by his little terrier, Roxy, runs the place with a laidback charm. He'll be happy to dry clothes, store bikes or prepare picnic hampers; ask for recommendations on the local eateries. There's no lounge, but guests can sit in the dining room. There's a a log fire on colder days, and when it's warmer, there's a decking area at the back.

Restaurants & Bars
Breakfasts are a relaxed affair and can often linger on through the morning. Begin with fresh fruit salad, Greek yoghurt and granola, before devouring dishes such as quesadillas or mushrooms with crème fraiche on sourdough. A good choice of evening options is within walking distance and Harvey is happy to give candid advice. We loved the weekend specials, and the honesty bar is very reasonably priced.
Breakfast: served daily from 8:30-10am. Dishes cooked to order include breakfast quesadilla, smashed avocado on toast and Full English.
