Located in a quiet spot on the edge of St Davids, Britain's smallest city (population, 1,600) that feels more like a village. Pembrokeshire's glorious coastline, which is hugged by a walking trail and features many wonderful beaches, is also on the doorstep. Whitesands beach is ten minutes' drive. Oriel y Parc, an impressive art gallery and visitor centre for the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, is across the lane from the hotel.

Restaurants & Bars

Blas (the name is Welsh for 'taste') serves up some of the most imaginative and elaborately-presented food you'll find in west Wales. Local ingredients are championed and there is plenty of locally-caught seafood, lamb and organic cheeses from a nearby dairy farm.

Blas Restaurant: seasonal, elegant contemporary dishes, Welsh-inspired cuisine, local produce, light lunches. Open daily for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and drinks. Mains from £14.
