Occupying the top 11 and bottom two floors of a 23-storey building, this is a trendy hotel with a relaxed atmosphere. The lobby is decorated in neutral tones, with splashes of colour through modern artworks. With floor-to-ceiling windows offering city vistas and plenty of seating, it's a popular and lively spot to socialise.

Facilities include a rooftop pool and 22nd floor bar, a gym, restaurant with two dining rooms and private dining space. There's paid parking and in warmer months, a food truck is on-site. Service is friendly and efficient.

Rooms are swish but compact, with light wood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows - with Brooklyn, Queens or Manhattan views - and contemporary artworks by local artists. Bathrooms are tiled with walk-in showers and back-lit mirrors.

Dining is overseen by Michelin-starred chef Andrew Carmellini. Modern Leuca serves southern Italian fare, food truck Mr Dips is open during the summer months and Westlight (22nd floor) has indoor seating with floor-to-ceiling windows. We loved the coconut shrimp and Greek salad at Westlight, made even more delicious by the great views.

Leuca: Italian cuisine. Open for all-day dining and weekend brunch.
