MORE INFORMATION

Location

In the hip neighbourhood of Williamsburg, this hotel is next to two other trendy properties; you'll find plenty of shops, bars and clubs in the local area. We recommend the Italian restaurant Lilia and gastropub The Bedford.

The L Train station is on the Avenue, whisking you to Manhattan in a few minutes.

By plane: London, Manchester or Edinburgh to New York takes 7 hours, after which, a taxi takes 25 minutes. Book flights to New York.

Style

Dating back to 1901, this eight-storey hotel used to be a cooperage and the industrial feel is still present - think exposed brickwork, polished concrete floors, recaimed wood and cast-iron colours. Local artworks in the rooms adds a modern touch.

Service & Facilities

While the Wythe doesn't have too many facilities (no gym, spa or room service, for example), there is a a restaurant, bar-restaurant and rooftop terrace - and it more than makes up for it with its swish décor and cool ambience. Service is friendly and efficent.

Bedrooms

Rooms vary in size and shape but are generous compared to most in New York. With an industrial feel, rooms have concrete floors and floor-to-ceiling windows that allow the light to flood in and enhance the views.

Room types: Bunk Bed, Studio, Brooklyn, Manhattan View, North 7th Loft, North 8th Loft, South 7th Loft, Penthouse Loft

Key amenities: ensuite bathroom with toiletries, bathrobes, sitting area, Echo Dot, mini-bar, TV, free Wi-Fi

Restaurants & Bars

Both ground-floor Le Crocodile Restaurant and the sixth-floor Blondeau Bar (with views of Manhattan) are popular. Like much of the menu, the Japanese fried chicken with mentaiko mayo is delicious. Le Crocodile has a bigger choice of dishes that won't disappoint.

Le Crocodile: French cuisine, dishes include trout almondine and duck leg. Open daily for dinner, Mon-Fri for lunch and Sat-Sun for brunch.

The Blondeau Bar: wines, cocktails, small plates. Open daily from 5pm.
